Xolo has been a late entrant to the tablet segment, but that may not be enough to stop Xolo from releasing its own tablet based on the Nvidia Tegra Note reference design. Xolo is preparing to launch the new Xolo Play Tegra Note tablet next month, Gizmodo reports.
Gizmodo cites a company official and notes that the Xolo Play Tegra Note tablet will be launched in India next month, with the price expected to be between Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 20,000. The site further claims to have confirmed the price with its source and expect the first Tegra 4-powered tablet from Xolo to come with a price tag of Rs. 16,999.
Earlier this month, Nvidia pulled the curtains back to reveal the long-awaited Tegra Note tablet. However, the newly revealed Tegra Note was not a new consumer tablet, but instead a reference design tablet for Nvidia's partners to adopt and brand as their own. Nvidia mentioned that the Tegra Note will be released in India via Xolo.
The Nvidia Tegra Note comes with a 7-inch HD IPS LCD (1280x800) display and is powered by the Tegra 4 processor with a 72-core GeForce GPU and quad-core Cortex-A15 CPU. The Tegra Note will run Android OS and will likely come with over-the-air software updates directly from Nvidia. There is a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. It includes 16GB of inbuilt storage with microSD support and is expandable up to an additional 32GB. The tablet features front-facing HD audio stereo speakers with bass-reflex port. It can deliver up to 10 hours of HD video playback, claimed Nvidia.
Some of the highlight features of the Tegra Note tablet are the DirectStylus technology for the bundled stylus, Nvidia PureAudio technology, SmugMug Camera app (one of the camera apps on iOS comes to Android), and Nvidia TegraZone that provides access to Tegra-optimized games.
